Three interactive assembly programs for Central Florida elementary schools, each 45 minutes and run by grade level or grade band in your auditorium, gym or cafeteria. Big Idea Wonder Lab is a live science show with big, visual experiments. Big Idea Mystery Lab is a mystery a whole grade solves together. Big Idea Dinosaur Adventures is a performer-led dinosaur show with lifelike dinosaurs and 3D-printed fossils. Florida splits its frameworks by subject - the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards for science cover Wonder Lab and Dinosaur Adventures, and B.E.S.T. ELA covers Mystery Lab. Big Idea Wonder Lab - a 45-minute live science show for one grade level or grade band

Big, visual experiments your students watch happen in front of them, run by two presenters who know how to hold a full assembly audience. Chemistry, physics, electricity, forces and air pressure, sized so the back row sees everything, with the scientific method as the through-line: observe, ask, predict, experiment, discover. Student volunteers join the presenters on stage, and the whole room predicts every result before it happens. Students do not handle dry ice or laboratory chemicals.   • Air vortex cannon. A rolling ring of air crosses the stage and knocks over a target; theatrical fog then makes the vortex visible in flight.
  • Van de Graaff generator. Static charge builds until a pre-screened volunteer's hair stands on end - attraction and repulsion the back row can see.
  • Dry ice chamber. Dense fog spills from a clear chamber and then fills a bubble: solid carbon dioxide turning straight into gas.
  • Giant pressure chamber. An oversized object swells inside a clear vacuum chamber as the air is pumped out, then settles back as pressure returns.
  • Color-reaction chemistry. Vivid liquids in large clear vessels change color when they meet; a student volunteer predicts the result first.
  • Elephant Toothpaste finale. A secured reaction chamber sends up a towering column of foam while the whole room counts down and calls the height.

Big Idea Mystery Lab - a 45-minute mystery a whole audience solves together

Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Missing Manuscript. The final chapter of a famous manuscript has vanished, and Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson need your students to get it back. Two presenters lead the audience as it reads clues, tests predictions, decodes messages and examines evidence, with student volunteers on stage and the whole room solving along. Built around context clues, inference, prediction and evidence-based thinking, with science woven through the investigation. No suspect is treated as a criminal: the final reveal celebrates teamwork, careful thinking and the joy of opening a book. Now booking for November 2026 and beyond.

  • The missing words. Students rebuild key words in a manuscript passage from details and context clues.
  • Fingerprint evidence. Loop, whorl and arch patterns are compared - and the evidence is interpreted before anyone jumps to a conclusion.
  • Crack the code. A number cipher reveals a hidden message whose meaning goes beyond the literal words.
  • Invisible message. Ultraviolet light uncovers a clue that students solve by combining text evidence with what they already know.
  • Ink laboratory. Paper chromatography separates the pigments in ink - science that provides evidence without automatically proving guilt.

Big Idea Dinosaur Adventures - a 45-minute performer-led dinosaur show for one grade level or grade band

Students meet two lifelike baby dinosaur puppets - a T. rex and a Pachycephalosaurus - and a robotic Triceratops about the size of a German Shepherd. A host guides the discoveries while a dino trainer handles the dinosaur encounters. 3D-printed fossils and skulls become clues as students observe, compare, predict and explain how paleontologists learn about animals from long ago. Our longest-running program, and the one that has played to the largest audiences.

  • Meet the baby T. rex. The dino trainer introduces a lifelike puppet; students study its teeth and movement and predict what those features tell us.
  • Meet Pachycephalosaurus. A second baby dinosaur with a very different head - students compare the two and explain what they notice.
  • Robotic Triceratops. The robot joins the show, and students compare its horns and frill with the two babies.
  • Fossil detective work. Large 3D-printed bones and skulls become clues to shape, structure and what can be inferred from the evidence.
  • How a dig works. Dig tools and a discovery scenario show why scientists record where a fossil was found before trying to interpret it.

Florida subject areas: NGSSS and B.E.S.T.

Florida splits its frameworks by subject. Science and Earth science sit under the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards; English Language Arts sits under B.E.S.T. We name both because a submission has to cite the right one.

How a Big Idea assembly day works

How It Works

  • Tell us your date and your space

    Send your preferred date, your student count and where the program will run. Auditorium, gym or cafeteria all work.

  • We build the day around your school's bell schedule

    We recommend one session per grade level or grade band, scheduled back to back, so each show is tailored to the age and learning level of the students in the room. We will work with your school's timetable to make scheduling simple and seamless.

  • We arrive, set up and run it

    Our team brings the equipment, props and sound. Your staff walks the students in and watches.

  • We pack out

    Setup and teardown are ours. The space goes back exactly as we found it.

The same price for every program and in every area we serve. Four or more shows, or more than one day, are quoted for your school. Title I pricing is available on request. Travel charges, where they apply, are quoted up front, before you book.

Scheduling and procurement

Several sessions on one date is our standard booking, not an exception. A second show the same day adds $400 and a third adds $300, so three grade bands are covered for $1,595. You give us the timetable and our team handles the resets between sessions, so classes move once and your schedule holds.

Assembly dates for the school year fill six to eight weeks ahead. Schools and districts book on a purchase order, and certificates of insurance are available on request.
